Daan Junior , author, composer, performer and producer of Haitian origin discovered his passion for music at a very young age. It was while listening to the sweet melodies of Konpa that rocked his childhood mixed with the sounds of different styles of music such as Pop Music, variety or R’n’B that he began to sing.
As magnetized by music, Daan Junior then feels the need to sing but also to play an instrument.
He tries his hand at the flute but it is at college, in music lessons that he has a revelation: he then asks his music teacher to teach him the piano.
Very quickly, the budding musician progresses and reproduces the chords of the biggest hits of the French variety, but also famous Kompa groups like ” Zin ” or ” Tabou Combo ” . Facing his mother’s reluctance to embark on an artistic career, Daan Junior enrolled in university after the baccalaureate to become a lawyer, but quickly realized that he would not be able to relegate his passion in the background because it occupies a more than central place in his life.
In 2002, Daan Junior released his first album ” Di’m Sa’w Vle ” which was an immediate success. In a few weeks, he was propelled to the front of the stage and his songs were praised in the four corners of the world. His tube ” Ave’w ” is ranked N ° 1 for several weeks of Afro-Caribbean hits in the Antilles, Africa and the USA. “ Ave’w ” was taken up on stage by many Kompa groups such as Carimi , T-vice , Original H , K-dans , Ti Kabzy … On the strength of this success, Daan Junior quickly rose to the ranks of the greatest Haitian singers of the new generation, whose rebounding success contributed to the recognition of Kompa on the international scene.
His first album, ” Di’m Saw Vle ” rose to the top of the best sales of albums in 2002 and 2003 with more than 100,000 copies sold, including 40,000 in Europe and in the Dom Tom and at least 80,000 in USA including Canada. To make the pleasure last, Daan Junior released a live album which delighted his fans. He then went on a major international tour which enabled him to become one of the only Haitian artists to acquire notoriety in many African countries such as: Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Chad, Togo, Benin, Morocco, Libya.
In October 2005, back with his second album called ” J’ai soif de toi “, the singer gets closer to the Haitian public with his single ” Mete’m alez “. He continues his tours in Europe, in the USA and in Haiti and records sumptuous duets with the singer Milca for the title ” Damage “, the tube ” Je t’aime, je t’aime, je t’aime ” with Teeyah , ” Gadé ”with Céline Retory or the superb title“ Naturellement ”with Fabiola Shyne , singer produced by Daan Junior. Its audience wants more, and despite a busy schedule, Daan Junior releases a new album every two years: in 2007, the live album ” Mete’m alez “, 2009 ” Sa wap fe’m nan non normal ” , 2011 a third live album ” Ban lui yon ti moment “.
In 2013, the album ” My place ” was born and transported fans of Daan Junior in an ocean of sweetness.
In 2017, Daan Junior breaks the tradition and returns to the front of the stage with a new album which he considers to be the most mature of his career. This 5th solo opus has a particular meaning because it echoes his lucky number: the 5, which follows him until his date of birth on 05/25. ” Because of you ” was a great success. This album is a treasure that contains many surprises: a collaboration with the famous zouk singer Thierry Cham or a duet with the lovely singer Fabiola Shyne. In 2019, Daan Junior accompanied by his group Ladaan , released a live album ” Daan junior & Ladaan live tour vol1 “.
