ARTIST/BAND /GROUP INFORMATION

The DEGA group was formed in 1995 with Carl-FrŽdric Behrmann on the keyboard, Adrien Savain as singer, Romuald Joseph the bass and Roland the guitar. They performed in various nightclubs like Cactus or No Fear.

In February 1996, on a stand at the carnival, DEGA played their meringue ” Yo sezi “. In August 1996, Adrien Savain and Carl-FrŽdŽric Behrmann went abroad to continue their university studies, the group only reforming during the Christmas holidays and the summer holidays.

During the summer of 1997, the band changed their guitarist by integrating a beginner: Lohmann Jean . Together, they gained experience and success. In the summer of 1997 they had a contract with Florville to play every Thursday night on the summer. Starting with 200 spectators and ending with 800. Subsequently, each New Year’s Eve, DEGA had more success after Sweet Micky another Haitian group. They were the creators of the New Year’s Eve celebrations, attracting an average of 1,000 people each year.

Also, in 1999 appeared some difficulties with Lohmann Jean, who was supposed to help Konpa Krey~l compose their first album ” SiÕw VleÕm “. However, a few months later things got even more complicated when DEGA and Konpa Kreyol had contracts on the same dates; to deal with it, DEGA made the decision to separate himself from Lohmann Jean, since that was what he wanted without being able to express it. After a few difficult times, the group joined Duckenson Fontaine , a young and innovative guitarist, still in the band today.

DEGA had several opportunities to record an album, even when Lohmann Jean was part of the band but it did not seem appropriate to them as long as part of the band was living abroad most of the time.

In 2001, with the definitive return of Maestro Carl-FrŽdŽric Behrmann in Ha • ti, they decided to put this project into execution. There was still a problem: the singer, Adrien Savain, had not finished his studies and could not return forever. Carl-FrŽdŽric Behrmann, eager to make progress in his project, decided to replace Adrien Savain or his successor himself during the necessary time. As can be seen, on their album Ç Kitem Groove È, Adrien Savain sings two titles ” Kitem Groove ” and ” Rencontre “.

Today the band is a trio: Carl-FrŽdŽric Behrmann is a singer, he is on keyboard and drums, Duckenson Fontaine is guitarist and Romuald Joseph, bassist. Alchemy has not changed, they always play good Compas music.

PROFILE OF THE FIRST DEGA ALBUM

In fact, it all began during a private party-led private party, when the audience fell in awe for their pleasing musical style. A few months later, DEGA proposed its dry-cleaning test entitled ” Ani ” ” Ani ” , a composition rich in emotion that was on the lips of all the painters of the country.

In addition, the group in its philosophy’s mission is to promote social values, namely: G Let us educate our peers so that they can cultivate positive actions toward one another È.

Among other things, this CD Ç Kitem Groove è by DEGA has been recorded in particular at Audioteck and Bwa Moquet studios. It is mixed by Fabrice Rouzier and produced by Antilles Mizik Philippe Lavelanet. Also, note that the Album includes nine (9) pieces well executed. Finally, of all this we can say that all the melodic colors found on this disc were imagined by the group and the texts each tell a story of the everyday life. It is on sale at all Ha ™ ti stores and you can even find it in outside communities like the USA, Canada and France.
