Djakout Mizik

ARTIST/BAND /GROUP INFORMATION

Among the oldest konpa groups still active, Djakout Mizik also known as “Djazz peyi’a” , is certainly the one that moves the crowds the most.

In May 2006, members of the group were fired upon while exiting a van. Fortunately, none of them was injured, and this news item inspired one of their greatest successes “Eskive”.

For the short story in 2007, they performed on the American chain MTV with the famous artist Wyclef Jean . It was their first appearance on the American television network. It is also the first group of Haitian Kompa to be shown on MTV.

Wyclef Jean takes pleasure in accompanying the legendary group, which identifies itself as a messenger for disadvantaged people, on the stages of Montreal and Miami.

In February 2008, they were rewarded for their performance at the carnival. They received the prize for the best group for their very good performance of “Kalòt marasa”.

A veritable orchestra, “armed” with copper instruments which make many of its particularities, and “programmed to set fire” on all the stages it crowds with its 10 outstanding musicians and vocalists, Djakout Mizik already has 8 albums to its assets, including the last Justis , which allowed it to rise again to the top of the charters.
