Son of Marcel and Carmen Brunot Dorismond, André Dorismond was born in Port-au-Prince on October 10, 1928. His father was director of the Telegraph / Telephone company and vice president of the HASCO sugar factory. André started out with Ansy Desrose, Gérard Chaumet, Jean Benjamin, Foureau, Gérard Hilton and Edner Élie, his childhood friends. As you can see, of these seven young rising stars who presented serenades at night, only three of them were able to survive the bad weather of artistic life. They are respectively, Ansy Desrose, Jean Benjamin and André Dorismond. Pupil of Madamme May in Pacot where he was taking lessons to better his vocal cords, André went on stage for the first time at the Casino International. It was in 1948 during a song competition where several vocal apprentices participated who cherished the dream of becoming a singer. He was elected the as the winner of this competition after his rendition of a Spanish song titled ‘Yo soy un borracho’ stole the show. Since then, André showed a strong passion and an ardent conviction to succeed as a singer.

In 1958, a time when ‘Far from the guitars and Haunted were his favorite interpretations; he joined the Ensemble de Nemours Jean Baptiste on the recommendation of Kreutzer Duroseau. After passing the entrance exams to the orchestra administered by Maestro Nemours Jean Baptiste, André was hired by Maestro, Nemours, in April 1958. Victim of a musical coup d’état after two years of service that he had a conversation with Weber Sicot at the Guignards, he was expelled from the group at the time when he was going to ride the van to perform at Pétion Ville with his brother musicians. What was worse, Augustin Fontaine (Tina), the bass player was responsible for the dismissal of André by the maestro. Consequently, André was quick to join Weber Sicot in a flash. A Sicot to tell him ‘André, we just slapped you, it’s up to you to put them back now.

In August 1960, André Dorismond became the first singer of La Fleche D’or d ‘Haiti. With Sicot, he spent almost nine years. During his tenure as lead singer, he composed Maryse Et Dodof, Flavie, Marcel Kokob, Douce Haiti etc. He printed with the Sicot set nearly 32 long playing. When Webert Sicot left for abroad in 1968, he filled the role of maestro until 1969 and He joined his wife Marie Rose in New York. For 29 years, they lived in an apartment located on Parkside Avenue in the Flatbush area. They deiced to leave New York City when their son, Patrick Dorismond was shot and killed by a narcotic agent on March 16, 2000, the moved to, Port Sainte Lucie. Andre passed away on May 4, 2018 after a long illness.
