K-Zino is a young Haitian Konpa Music band based out in Haiti. The band was founded on May 23, 2008 by Jean-Richard “Maestro Ricky” Bien-Aime and lead singer Gérald Yves Chéry. K-Zino utilizes the full band format at its performance. Per K-Zino, their aim is to promote Haitian culture around the world through their music.

After a short period of inactivity due to the earthquake of January 12, 2010 that took the life of one of their drummer, Peterson Louis and severely injured their lead singer, K-Zino returned to the music scene with the launch of their first album “Tou Gòl”, which was well received in Haiti, Canada, the United States, in France and the West Indies.

With three music videos on the album “Tou Gòl, Yon Bon Zanmi and Kè mwen kontan”, two carnival meringues “Bay lari a” in 2013, and “Fè bagay serye” in 2014; its status of revelation of the national carnival of Gonaives this year by several media, several benefits everywhere across the country and its good participation in the carnival of flowers July 27-28-29 in Port-au-Prince, K-Zino is without contests the most active local group.

During the years 2013-2014, K-Zino passed from the status of young hopefuls of the Haitian music scene to that, new revelation band thanks to its growing popularity and fan base. Although playing mainly the Konpa of the “new generation”, K-Zino touches all trends, from reggae to rap kreyòl. This is the strength of the group. Each performance is greeted with enthusiasm and all critics agree that K-Zino is a breath of fresh air.

The group is also headed by six young people under 30, hence the initiatives and new concepts of parties and entertainment, to entertain the young Haitian audience.

Update: In 2017, K-Zino returned with their 2nd studio album titled “Transition” which consist of 12 tracks.
