Ralph Menelas, guitarist / self-taught composer was born under the sign of the lion on August 12th. He began playing guitar at the age of 15. His roots are deep, because he grew up in the brats of a family of musicians (Les Menelas) who squatted the Haitian waves with the group Les Ambassadeurs. Fascinated by the cultural richness of Haiti, he is also interested in the composers of the generation 70, the musical writing and looking for ways to transgress his own style by incorporating into his game modes of writing rather intended for the guitar and percussion. The groups of which he is the guitarist are as varied as his musical inspiration, such as: Rapadou, Seewell, Masaj, Zenglen. In 2003, if founded the group 509, one of the most striking groups on stage with a power hit “Fake”. Ralph Menelas is a sculptor of electric sounds that he releases, among other things, his guitar and myriad pedals effects.

Later, he founded a new band, BELDJAZ with Ederse (Pipo) Stanis.

Menelas is a musician of life, he loves music and the two make him feel good. His music is spontaneous, rich and full of energy, directly concerned with his generous nature. Talented guitarist, he walks in all styles with a disconcerting ease. Musician rather introvert, he is considered by critics as one of the best guitarists of his generation. Ralph Menelas is an infallible musician. He uses his guitar in an orchestral way, sometimes as percussion, bass or drums. He is an unpredictable guitarist. The surprises are not lacking during his live performances. Flamboyant, passionate, electric and thunderbolt, he knows how to juggle with humor and pedagogy, without ever losing the thread of his program. So much so that time passes always a little too fast, because it is him the author and composer of the songs like: “Ou fou li li”, “Fozi”, “Jeanba”, “Sa ka rive”, ” “Prekosyon”, to name but a few.
