ALLY ALAYE was born Ralph Metellus on October 7th, 1969. Originally from Haiti, he relocated to Miami in 1998 in order to record his first album, pursue a music career and explore the benefits that the culture and ethnic contrasts of Miami offers. In his early beginning in the music scene, ALLY ALAYE was a member of the band Alaye and The Fox’s, the first Creole Techno / House band with a little taste of voodoo music. It featured artists like Eddy Francois of Boukan Guinen, Don-Kato of Brother’s Posse, R-Bass. In the summer of 1996, Alaye and The Fox’s released two singles “Crazy” and “Nice”. The music video of “Nice” became a huge hit during the 1997 Carnival in Port Au Prince. Following this instant success, the band began playing in the Live Concerts circuit with well known bands of the time such as Boukman Experience, Eden of Jacques Sauveur Jean and T-Vice. In 1998, ALLY ALAYE signed with music producer Jeff Wainwright of the record label Antilles Mizik. He was then able to obtain a travelling visa to come to Miami to pursue the recording of his first studio album entitled “Crazy” in which we found such hits as: “Surprise”, “Dead Fox” and “Fox’s Crazy Party” with the participation of Eddy Francois. Being a true artist constantly in search of new sounds and ideas, ALLY ALAYE since his early age always wanted to play Rock. He was inspired by music legends such as: Bob Marley, Nirvana, Jimmy Hendrix, Metalica, Bad Brain and Radio Head.

In 2004, ALAYE together with his friend Paul Jean aka Arc-Angel embarked in a new adventure and created a three piece Creole Rock band “THEBANDNEXXDOOR”. They started playing weekly gigues for the Haitian community in North Miami at Nuvo Cafe and also some bigger shows at The Miami Compas Festival, Kreyol Fest, ext … He also became a regular in gigues in smaller Pubs, Bars, and clubs in South Beach.

In 2006, it’s the recording and release of the music video “Tijan Dezo” that was given lots of airplay on BET J in a program called “Musical Passport”. In July 2008, ALAYE released the album “SDR: Sex, Drug and Rock & Roll”. The same year, he played at the Punk Fest at Churchill’s. He released the video: “Sunday Night Joint”. Having an eye for the fashion industry, he helped inspire the clothing line “ZOEROCK WEAR”.

ALLY ALAYE is also a painter, sculptor and music teacher … a true artist and patron of the Arts. Multi-talented and gifted, ALAYE has left his mark in the community and continue to bring a bright artistic future among his peers while staying true to himself
