ARTIST/BAND /GROUP INFORMATION

The musical group METOD, of New Jersey, was formed in 2009 by longtime friends Yves Metellus, Rodney Jean-Baptiste, and Clifford Charles. The three friends were looking to add their talents to the consortium of talents emanating from what seems like all corners of the globe, representing Haiti. They were soon joined by the already known lead singer Gregory St. Val (Jubu One) from the disintegrated rap-kreyol group VDC.

The friends were motivated to form this new musical group, known as METOD (Creole for Method), first with the idea of honoring existing talents in the HMI; such as Nu Look, T-Vice, Carimi, and Djakout, by doing cover songs from their albums. However, as they started to play more venues, it became apparent that it was time to add their own essence to the flavorful ‘bouyon’ known as Kompa. The group’s strengths are characterized by the wealth of experience from its members and their passion for music. They follow the revolutionized genre of “Kompa” that’s played on stages worldwide by many across the globe, and they intend on contributing to this already well appreciated musical style. METOD is set to reach out to the ever-growing fan-base spanning well beyond Haiti and the Haitian Diaspora.
