Shedly Abraham has been in the music industry for over 16 years. From his early days in Cap-Haïtien to DJAZZ LA Music Studio in Brooklyn, New York, Shedly Abraham has become a household name. He has been an astonishing musician as well as an amazing Producer. Currently, he is working on his sixth volume of Djazz La. This album is expected to be the best in his musical repertoire. The importance for any musician releasing albums in a series of volumes, one can expect for him to excel with each release; Shedly falls into the category respectively. As the volume increases, the original Konpa style and “Son la ri” is embedded within his composition. With the improvement in recording styles, Shedly nonetheless matures as a Musician and Producer.

It is not often a drummer is recognized for his work. On the other hand, Shedly is well known for being one of the best in his generation. Growing up, many of his influences were in his Father’s inner circle from Tropicana D’Haïti. From there he mastered his level on the drums. One prominent drummer Shedly learned his techniques from is none other than the Legendary Tico Pasquet of Magnum Band. He spent much time listening and practicing until he was at a level of confidence with himself.

He is an in-demand drummer who has performed with numerous Haitian Artists and bands from the “Queen of Haitian Song” Emeline Michel, Makarios Cesaire, Alan Cave, Armstrong Jeune, Stanley “Tantan” Toussaint, Beethovas Obas, Jacques Sauveur Jean, Philippe Pierre, System Band, Phantoms, Move Move, and Nu Look. Formerly a member of “New York All-Stars” Shedly prefers to play occasionally with bands rather than become a permanent member of any band. His personal experience has led him to this incremental decision.

Playing the drums is one of Shedly’s key talents. He also knows that his skills and techniques are unique and one that can distinguish his sound on any record. To set Shedly apart from other drummers he is able to give any Artist or Band the sound they are aiming for on an album. Not many are able to do this, which puts him in a position of the “most” sought-after drummer in the Haitian Music Industry. However, he is not a stranger to the trumpet or the keyboard.

The inception of Djazz La started as an experimental project. As a result, Shedly received raving reviews and continued from there. He never thought the idea of a small project would take extreme height as it has today. What makes Djazz La distinctive is a simple fact; new artists are introduced on each album. Shedly gives the opportunity to up and coming Artists would not have the chance with anyone else. He believes in developing and exposing new talent to the HMI. This is the precise approach he delivers in each volume of Djazz La.

With the anticipated release Djazz La Vol. 6 in a few months or so, the public can expect maturity and growth from Shedly in terms of music production. Known for reviving a popular R&B tune into Konpa style, Shedly has taken a different turn with Djazz La Vol. 6. After much criticism about his originality, Shedly will only feature one remix on the upcoming album. Therefore, all the featured tracks will be original compositions from him. We can expect high caliber Artists such as Alan Cave, the soulful Reginald Cange, Eric Charles, the charismatic Gazzman Couleur, premier vocalist Jude Jean, Armstrong Jeune, Elie LaPointe, and Nickenson Prud’Homme. There is also a beautiful duet which will feature a soulful Arly Lariviere and the only female lead vocal, an “Industry Insider” not known for her vocal abilities. Surprisingly, on Djazz La Vol. 6 Shedly honors a legendary Haitian band, an Hommage in their honor. With featured Artists of this magnitude, we can predict several hits on Djazz La Vol. 6.

To conclude, expect the best from Shedly Abraham as he has full-fledged greatly since the first production of Djazz La. The diligence of a Drummer turned producer will be revealed in the essence of the album. The end results of the album speak tremendous volume.
